Sarah Michelle Gellar Not Keen On Buffy Reboot
We'll be honest: we're not sure we are either.
Actually, we haven't heard that anyone actually does like the idea of a Buffy reboot. Even Whedon thinks it's an unnecessary idea.
Well, it turns out that Buffy herself Sarah Michelle Gellar agrees with everyone else, too:
"I think it's a horrible idea. To try to do a 'Buffy' without Joss Whedon, I mean that's, like, honestly, to be incredibly non-eloquent: that's the dumbest idea I've ever heard.
It was a movie. It's been made. It stars Kristy Swanson. They made it. They don't need to make another one!"
Damn, gurl! Don't sugar coat it!

We share her sentiment for sure! Even one of the show's writers has spoken up against it:
“It’s hard to imagine anybody but Joss bringing that to the screen. I wouldn’t want to be the person trying to write it. And I worked on the show, but I would not want to be that [person] because the fans are very loyal. They’re excruciatingly loyal, unless they hate you, in which case they’re excruciating about that too.”
We hear that! Buffy fans are like circus fires — they're intense! (In-tents? Get it??)
Anyway, this is one project we wouldn't be upset to hear that gets left behind. Sorry to whoever is working on it! Aim for something that's worth getting made and won't upset everyone!
