HBO Is Cautiously Optimistic About A Season 9 For Curb
Trying their hardest not the jinx it, the folks over at HBO have been wondering why the season 8 of Curb Your Enthusiasm is doing so well now.
It isn't that they don't have faith in their show, but it's getting the highest numbers since season 4, and there was a long hiatus between seasons 7 and 8.
They're looking into the lead-ins, and quality of the season. Even the hiatus. Maybe it was just a perfect storm for Larry.
Which makes them "cautiously" optimistic about a 9th season, because Larry hasn't said yet that he never wants to do it again. But, that doesn't mean he does. And it's completely up to him:
"We're cautiously optimistic," HBO's president of programming Michael Lombardo told me today of the prospects of a ninth season of Curb. There has been an encouraging sign. "For the first time ever after this season Larry didn't say 'I never want to do this again'," Lombardo said. That is a promising start.
We assume we speak for others when we say that we'd LOVE to see a 9th season!
There's just something so hilarious about watching Larry David get into excruciatingly hard to watch situations.
Say yes, Larry!
